Projects
Project: PaludiZentrale
Role: Coordinator of the Communication and Knowledge Transfer work package
Project period: 2023–2032
PaludiZentrale coordinates PaludiNetz, a network encompassing five model and demonstration projects and four pilot projects focused on peatland soil protection and the use of biomass from rewetted land. Its aim is to establish and manage paludiculture at a scale relevant to practical implementation and to test processing and marketing chains for the biomass. The projects implement a range of paludiculture options, including growing peat moss for horticultural substrates, using wet grasslands, and cultivating cattail and reed to produce biomass for products ranging from construction and insulation materials to packaging and paper. All projects are accompanied by scientific investigations into the ecological and economic effects of paludiculture.
