November 2016: DBU Scholarship for Karolina Janecka
Karolina was recently awarded a DBU scholarship for her project „Dendrochemical analyses as a key to understand the influence of industrial air pollution on forest condition in the 20th and 21st century“. She will utilize the ITRAX Multiscanner to test for pollution signals in tree-rings comparing heavily polluted areas with more pristine sites in Poland. Congratulations! Keep pup the good work!
October 10th, 2016: Teaching Award 2016 awarded to Prof. Martin Wilmking
Prof. Martin Wilmking was rewarded with the University of Greifswalds' Teaching Award 2016 for his highly succesfull e-learning teaching formats. The prize was awarded during the festive opening of the academic year in the St. Nikolai Cathedral on October 10, 2016. The award is endowed with 2,000 euros to be invested in teaching.
March 15th, 2016: Scholarship for Rohan Shetti
The International Office at Greifswald University supports Rohan Shetti from May to October 2016 in the frame of the Scholarship Program STIBET of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Rohan is writing his thesis in our working group with the preliminary title: "Potential of Juniperus communis as a climate proxy in the Ural Mountains, Russia".
January 1st, 2016: New colleague
After concluding the LENC Master program in Greifswald, Roberto Cruz García received a 3 year scholarship extension for doctoral studies. Roberto holds a DAAD-Conacyt (Mexican National Council for Science and Technology) scholarship, which will support him during his Ph.D. studies. He will work with the topic of long and short term effect of climate change on growth rates of European temperate forest tree species.
